Ellis sported some casual clothes today. It was her one day off from work, and she intended to spend it like it was her last. Well, not really, she already did that enough at her job. No, she actually intended to spend today in relaxation and peace on her mind. No drama, no sense of death looming at every corner, no anything. So why not spend today at one of her favorite places: The Cafè!
She swung open the door, a small tingling sound announcing her arrival. A gleeful look came across the cashier's face as she saw Ellis come into the little store, and she shot her a smile. Ellis returned the smile and skipped over to the cashier. After a few moments of thinking on what she wanted to eat, she settled on a frappe and small sandwich. The little meal was handed to her in a small, white paper bag, and after Ellis paid for the meal she happily took it.
Ellis looked around the store, trying to find a nice, quiet spot to sit in. It wasn't too busy today, but Ellis still wanted to find the perfect spot. She found one next to a window near the back of the Cafè and quickly took it before anyone else could. She opened the paper bag, taking out the sandwich and beginning to eat. Occasionally she'd glance around the store to see if anyone else was coming in. She liked to observe other people on these days, to see what their normal lives were like. She often envied them, but today she wouldn't let those emotions get in her way of a good meal.

She didn't really have a job, but it wasn't too unheard of for Sabrina to be a sort of assassin or mercenary. She'd be called, a meeting would ensue, and someone would tell her who to kill, intimidate, or injure. Sabrina would do it and collect her pay.
While she'd be considered a criminal by most, the 14-year-old didn't really care. She did what she needed to in order for survival, and getting a job was just too much work, especially since it felt like no businesses in the area hired kids her age.
Money in hand, Sabrina stepped into the cafe, ordered something quick, then looked around. It wasn't a very busy day, which was half-good. Sabrina wasn't a huge fan of people. Noticing a girl looking around for the first time, Sabrina raised an eyebrow, a smirk making its way across her face. Ah, someone who wasn't simply staring at their food. Maybe this one was nosy or interesting in some way.
Why not go bother someone, right?
With this idea in mind, Sabrina approached the girl, who seemed to be older than herself, but she couldn't really tell. "Hello, my name is Sabrina, and I'm new in town," she said, the lie coming out quite easily, "I'm looking for a few friends to start off, you know? What's your name?" Sabrina took her headphones off her ears, setting them around her neck, and paused the song playing on her iPod, waiting for a response.
