The sun was in the middle of the sky, bathing the large city of Naomia in warm sunlight. However it was Fall and a small breeze blew past. Most were in thin jackets trying to stay warm, some who got chilled easily in something bigger and the remaining in sweaters or shirts. Clouds were in the sky, but there weren't enough to cover the bright yellow sun. They were white and puffy and rarely touched the edges of sunlight.
A young women walked down the light grey side walks. To her right cars passed on the black tar streets of the city. Garbage and dumpsters cluttered the back lanes and some buildings stood very tall among the rest. She didn't wear any jacket or sweater, she felt no need to. The wind blew back her dirty blond hair that shined brightly. Her brighter hazel eyes scanned the streets as she weaved through the other people. Some walking the other way.
She knew where she was going, she was going to get herself a coffee after work. She was done since her co-worker, Sasha who was a 32 year old lady was actually able to come in because her child felt better. Cassandra knew that Sasha had a very young kid and her husband had died because of a mugger, leaving her to care for the four year old. She was unable to find someone that her kid was okay with a baby-sitter, so she asked Cassandra to take care of her job.
The young women walked, able to see over some from her tall stature. Although she looked like she would perhaps be one of those snobs in the movies, she could be nice. However she knew of her mischievous habits that constantly pestered her. She yawned as she continued down the sidewalk. Her head lifted as she saw the sign of the cafe, and she smiled, and opened the door. The bell rang and some head looked up, then back to there task.
She decided not to order yet and sat at a table in the corner of the room in front of a large window with the cafe name on it.

Deceus needed to get out more.
It wasn't that he spent too long inside, or that he avoided 'going out' - it had merely been too long since he'd taken a stroll through the town he'd known for centuries on end. Such a shame, too. It was a beautiful city. He would choose no other locale for his purposes, if he could. There was simply too much that interested him about the city, let alone the people inside of it. Quite tasty, to boot. It was pretty late in the day to head out, but that didn't stop him. One could never be too late when they had all the time in the world. Besides, it was close to closing time anyway - Deceus preferred not to be in the library at night. It wasn't like they got any traffic after seven o'clock, really. It was essentially like sitting in a giant storage house for books, which no one wanted to peruse. Sort of annoying, but not when he left early, as he is doing now.
It had been a long time since the roads were paved with black-top and the sidewalks with cement. And yet, he still found it to be uncomfortable to tread there. He was quick to act happily, though. On his little trek he saw many people who he spoke to often, managing to smile and wave to all of them. It was good to be accepted. The thought would have made him chuckle, had he not been out in the open like this. Speaking of which, where was he going? He hadn't the slightest clue. There were many places he could go, but he didn't know if he wanted to. Bars are noisy. He wasn't anywhere near hungry enough (or sane enough, really) to eat at the restaurant.
Yet, as he passed by a certain building, he decided it would be best if he visited the Cafe. Deceus wasn't big on coffee, admittedly. But it would be very calm, quiet, and relaxing, especially compared to other places during this time of the day.
Stepping in, he was pleased. There was a man here, an elderly couple, and a woman sitting by the window. After glancing over the menu (for the hundredth time - he always made sure to look like he was searching when ordering from any just about anywhere, although he never ordered anything different) he settled for a nice refreshment.
"I'll have a hot tea, if you could be so kind."
He spoke softly and humbly to the young woman behind the counter, putting a hand on his shoulder and bowing slightly. Such flattery. He was good at this.
"No sugar or cream, please. Just the tea."
It didn't take long for his order to ready, and when it was, he bowed once again and seemed to almost float across the floor as he strode to his usual seat - a table or so behind the woman. It was against the wall, however it was past the window, where he could not be seen from the outside.
"Not eating today, hm?"
He smiled, beginning conversation. Then he sipped.
Who would this woman turn out to be?

The young women with shiny dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes didn't notice the man enter, although she heard the ringing of the golden bell. She just watched as people walked the grey sidewalks. She had no idea the man was walking over to her table until she heard his voice. Her good sense of hearing heard the noises. "Not eating today, hm?" Her eyes adverted from the window and laid on the man who sat at the chair across from her.
He seemed like not too bad of a guy, at least he seemed nice. "Oh, no I already ate before I left work. No worries." Cassandra explained, offering a warm smile. She had eaten before she left, but only a sandwich, but it was enough to keep her from getting hungry before she got home. Then she could cook a nice home cooked meal. She enjoyed them better then fast food, fast food was too unhealthy. It was mostly to keep her in shape and so she could perform her night and somewhat even her day job. She did walk to work everyday after all.
"Anyways I am Cassandra North, and you are?" Cassandra asked casually. She was still smiling, enjoying meeting a new person that she hadn't seen before.
