Everyday was just the same, remembering the past that can't be change. There was no way to forget the past, it would just catch up in the end. A past of blood and death was what followed Markus, everyday he seemed to find himself remember about all the people who had died and the one who betrayed him. He walked down the streets in the afternoon, some people giving him a quick glance, then possibly knowing and gossiping. He found that some did know from the news and they didn't share many words to him, not many people at all for that matter. They thought that he may have killed his parents and friend, but none of it was true, Henry killed them all and out of self defense he killed Henry. It had been to late and Lucas was killed, he had scratches, some a little deep that he hadn't felt.
Markus knew of his power, unlike normal human beings he could endure more. Yet he found himself pleading to be normal. Soon he found that he had travel from the crowds in a part not many bother to come down. He stopped for a second and looked around.

Lilith had thought it would be a good idea to take her little unnamed kitten outside, as she so often did. It was a good cat and all and it always followed her around when she took it out, but this time it had just wandered away. Lilith had, of course, freaked out. She instantly started crawling around on the ground looking for it. Today she had on jeans and a t-shirt. Her hair was done up in a braid and it almost touched the ground as she crawled around.
People gave her funny looks like she was crazy, but she didn't really care. She was smarter than any of them, it just so happened that she had lost her kitten. Lilith would spot a tail her hear somebody exclaim as it ran past them, but she never quite found it. She was getting more and more worried as the time went on. What if it went into the street and got hit? Or somebody stepped on it?
Lilith finally saw it. She jumped for it, but instead of catching it her hands landed on somebody's shoe. She blushed and straightened up. She saw a young man when she looked, probably somewhere around her age actually. "Um, sorry, but my kitten, it ran over here and I almost had it but it moved and that's why I grabbed your shoe." She rambled as her eyes darted around for the cat.

At first it was just ongoing thoughts, then out of no where, there was a grip on his foot and bam, he tripped and fell face first into cement. For a few seconds his mind seemed dazed, it had happened so fast he almost felt like it couldn't be processed. After a few seconds of being on the ground he got up and brushed himself off. It hadn't hurt that much, but there was a slight pain in his jaw that he was sure to recover from. He turned to see the young girl, he auburn hair near her shoulders and her blue eyes were clear. "Its okay I am fine." Markus answered, trying not to make her feel as bad. Besides she was just looking for her kitten that must have scampered away. All that really hurts and somewhat my pride, but like it matters. I am already an outcast. He thought, just shaking it off and not thinking about it.
"Do you need some help? I have nothing better to do." Markus asked, just to be nice, besides, he knew what it was like loosing something close, and almost by the sound of her voice he could tell and the fact she was already looking around in hopes to see her dear kitten.

Lilith smiled as the boy offered to help her find her cat. She nodded a little and then looked around. "It was around here a second ago and I'd give you its name to call but it doesn't have one yet. If you want to then I could use the help." She the ducked back under the crowd and started to look for the little thing.
Finally she spotted it and quickly snatched it up. The thing squirmed a little bit in her arms but she managed to keep it with her. She tutted a little bit and then finally it stopped squirming and accepted that it had been caught. Lilith sighed and then looked around for the guy to tell him that she had found her cat and maybe even talk to him a bit, after all he seemed nice enough.

Markus listened to the girl and about her cat, however it didn't have a name and the fact of no description, then again, how many kittens were around here? He nodded and began to look around in hopes to find her small kitten. However as he looked, he couldn't help, but to think about his life. The faces of his history seem to be like images etched in the back of his mind, mom, dad, Lucas, even Justin seem to make him feel worst. His eyes wondered until he noticed that the girl had caught her kitten, that was good. Markus didn't know her, not her name, only that she had a kitten and her appearance. She seemed nice, but somehow Markus felt like knowing people and making friends was hopeless. So many people involved with him had died, it just felt so terrible and he had been accused on several accounts. He sighed and began to walk off.
He already knew his past would catch up with him, the news casts, papers, all of it. He had lived here since he was young and now he felt betrayed by the whole town. "Why did this have to happen? Sadly the past doesn't changed." For some reason he said it aloud and looked down at the cement. The pain of his jaw ebbed away and he was feeling a lot better, however there was a small scratch on his chin. He shoved his hands in his black jacket, feeling the cold Fall weather nip at him. It was as though he suspected nothing of it.

When Lilith finally spotted the guy he was walking off. Had he decided not to help after all? She sighed and was about to walk off when it suddenly hit her that she had no idea what she wanted to do, so she turned around and ran after the guy. Her cat mewled in protest to the movement, but when she caught up with him she slowed down.
"Hey guy. Where you going? Sorry is that too personal? Okay basics. Well I'm Lilith, but you can call me Lily and I'm a scientist. So tell me about you." Lilith never really learned how to talk normally to people so as she walked her fingers tapped nervously against the kitten in her arms.

At first he suspected he was going to be left alone, like usually. Until he hard the tapping of steps on the cement, and heard the girl who he had just spoken to. Her kitten was in her arms, and seeming interested to know more. He preferred to be alone, but could tolerate company, sometimes he had to anyways. "No where really." He answered, but there was something about the words she used and the way her sentences were place, they weren't wrong, but they almost seemed, unusual. "I am Markus." He answered the second question, continuing to walk down the street. He could tell the very few people looked at him with quick glances that seemed more like glares to him. They were quick and hard to catch, but still it was almost as though they burned through the skin. He didn't say a word, just walked in silence.

Lilith nodded. Going nowhere. That was really fun. Her cat squirmed to be let down and she gave it the look that said if it ran off again she would not go looking for it. So she sat it down and it strutted along beside her. She turned back to the guy, Markus was his name, and smiled. She tried to think of something to say, but really couldn't think of anything, at all, that would might seem interesting, so she went to science.
"Did you know that there is a tree that nobody knows where it came from and there are only twenty-five of them? Isn't that wacky? It's called the Stern's Medlar." She chuckled a little and then blushed. Lilith was quickly realizing how bad she was at talking to normal people. Normal people didn't talk about almost extinct trees. Normal people didn't talk about trees at all. She twitched her fingers again.

In a matter of seconds Markus was confused, he wasn't much known for his intelligent, but it seemed overdone. What is with this girl? Markus could only be confused and that was all he could think. "Uhh... Okay then..." Markus said, just drifting off as he continued to walk. Out of all the people it was a really smart person, maybe she even had an eidetic memory, how could he know? He began to look back down at his feet in a matter of seconds, let the cold air nip at him. It seem to swallow him as it hovered all around him. Swirls of his exhale floated up until it dissipated in the air. "So by my guess you like research, by the sound of how smart you are." Markus said somewhat quietly.

Lilith sighed as the guy stated "okay then" like she was some kind of freak. She supposed that she was. Her super duper intelligence freaked most people out. Even at the lab she was a weirdo. She was the girl that had no friends and knew everything about everything. She didn't falter in her steps as he asked her if she liked research.
Lilith couldn't help but laugh. "I kind of have to like research if I'm going to be a scientist, but yes, I like research, or more likely I like learning new things. What do you like to do? What do you like?" She quickly rattled off. Lilith looked down at her kitten and saw it to still just be wandering around her ankles.

He just kept pace listening to her words. His feet kept hitting the pavement, just trying to focus on something else, but soon he heard questions, he wasn't to fond of questions. There wasn't much he liked, his life was just a big mess. My friends, my family there all dead. I like being alone and not talking and getting close to other people. He thought to himself. He was getting a little annoyed with these questions for he just didn't like him and he didn't know why he didn't like them. "Not much." He answered, as he looked at the street, seeing cars pass. He didn't want to ask anymore so hopefully he didn't get asked back. He looked at the grey clouds and watched them swirl in the sky, but looked down quickly, as though it was too painful to remember. It all was, he hated it all, he no longer wanted to get close only because of the fact he had lost a lot.
Even though Lilith was beside him, he still felt lonely in a different way.

Lilith looked at the guy when he replied. She looked at Markus and sighed, because he said he didn't like anything. Or at least not much. She thought for a second. "It seems as if you could blow of some steam and you are also quite the saddening person to me so I would also like to blow of some steam. If you would like to I know a great place and we can fight. I like to do that when I'm in a bad mood and you seem to be in a bad mood." Lilith looked at her feet as they walked along. "And I also know that sometimes people don't help when I'm in a bad mood so if you want I can leave and let you do whatever it is you do." Lilith was quite used to being left behind so if he decided that he wanted to be alone she would have no problem going somewhere else. Perhaps she'd go to the lab and see what was going on. Sure it was her day off, but what fun is that?
